As a professional coordinator managing many clients, I'd like to have the medications taken for a specific period with a stop date added, to automatically switch to inactive after the date has passed, to reduce the time spent manually updating the active medication list manually.

Starting today, medications with a stop date in the past will be toggled to Inactive.
Medications that had a stop date in the past prior to today will remain in their current status so that we don't catch people off guard and inactivate meds they didn't intend to inactivate. You can edit medications and reset their stop date, and the new rules will take effect.
